I took this (okay I cheated, it’s 2 pictures that I put together in photoshop - you like my little pun of “faux” in my title?) last weekend. But I was really excited about how it came out and then instantly after uploading to my flickr, I had 5 views, 1 favorite and my very first contact request from someone I don’t know. So cool! :)

Here we have myself posing
for Marc’s sunglasses as a typical
south-sider at an air show.

And here is myself laughing at what a mess I had made out of my face (and chest and back). Nothing says class like a sunburn the shape of your sunglasses. It freaking hurts though, I’m taking an umbrella w/ me like they do in Taiwan from now on, sunscreen doesn’t work, y’all!

If I would have known that playing sand volleyball this afternoon would mean not being able to wear sassy shoes tonight, I totally wouldn’t have done it. I think I broke my hand… hoping sassiness w/ the girls will make it all better.

I had 0 caffeine yesterday which is always bad, bad, bad for this girl and even though I planned to get up early this morning to get some before work, I woke up late… again. So as soon as Goose opened up at 10, I went for some! And to make the joy of coffee even better, they were playing the new Beck! I love this album… I think it might be my favorite of his so far… next to Mutations. Loooove him. Want to maaaaarry him.

A nice comment about missing my daily photo popped up last night from Kelly. I’m so flattered that someone was missing my photos that I’m breaking the slump! :)

I took this while eating dinner on the roof at the Rooftop Gardens Saturday night. If you haven’t eaten there, go! Especially if it’s the perfect temp of 70º and right at sunset. …and also if you are wearing your sassy new heals and are taken by a nice boy. ;)

Sunday was hiking in Brown County… if you can really call it hiking… Indiana isn’t exactly rugged but that’s just fine with me ’cause I’m kinda lazy and like to take my camera. :)

I haven’t been as camera happy lately, but when I saw these lights in China Town today, the happy was back. :)

I finally tried one of Organette’s amazing recipes and let’s just say that after eating these cookies, my Betty Crocker book is out the window! These are the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever made!

This was my dinner Saturday night. It ended up being way too hot to eat, but it was super-pretty and fun to say. :)

So there is this thing in Indy called a N.I.T.E. ride that I guess has been around for a while. I had no idea until a friend asked me to go and I’m so happy that he did! Police block off streets, even major ones, and you ride 20 miles around the city from 11pm-ish to 1am-ish and then eat Fazollis at 1am-ish. It was the most fun I’ve ever had on a bike. Except maybe the rain that happened towards the end… but even that was kinda fun in it’s own annoying kind of way. :)

Slice of Pink did a post of her hometown and asked others to make one as well. I like filling things out, so here is My Indianapolis.
Age: 27
Occupation: Graphic Designer
I’ve lived here for: 27 years
I live here because: It’s super-cheap and most of my family and friends live here.
My neighborhood: Southport
My favorite restaurant: Kabutos or Taste or Shallos.
If you go to this restaurant, be sure to order: Hibachi or the waffle with fresh fruit on top or one of their many, many beers.
My favorite museum: Indianapolis Museum of Art
My favorite tourist destination: I’m not sure anyone ever comes here to “tour” but I guess my favorite would be the canal.
Best insider spot: Mass Ave? That’s our “art district.” Not sure it would be considered “insider” though.
My favorite area: Downtown
Best place to go shopping: Keystone Fashion Mall
When you visit, don’t forget to pack: A camera… you shouldn’t visit anywhere w/o a camera. ;)
But leave room in your suitcase for: Some Colts apparel!
The one local cuisine you should try when you’re in town is: Goose the Market
The best way to get around: Some bike and walk paths are being built, but you’d still need a car for sure.
If I had to describe this city in one word, it would be: Behind. We are completely behind on the times, man. Smoking is still allowed in the bars, not many people recycle, we’re out of fashion, we have very little public transportation, etc…
I tell my friends to stay at: The Villa! Unless you have kiddies… then the Holiday Inn by the Pyramids b/c it has SLIDES!
The one thing most outsiders don’t know about this city is: The very first Cheeseburger in Paradise was here!
They say “Virginia is for lovers.” So fill in the blank: Indianapolis is for people who like cheap living.

It seems like just yesterday that my friend called to tell me that she was pregnant and now today is her son’s 1st birthday party. Time flies, dudes! Check out how “green” his gift is - I used the bag that one of his gifts came in to wrap it. All you need is a little ribbon to “seal” the top and “jazz” it up. :) I bought the rubber duck at the Bath & Body Works sale for like $2 with the intention of just putting him on the outside of the package. I think my latest “dream” is to open a gift wrapping store. I know it would totally flop and make no money, but what a fun dream, huh?
