baby birthday

June 21st, 2008 broelliero

It seems like just yesterday that my friend called to tell me that she was pregnant and now today is her son’s 1st birthday party. Time flies, dudes! Check out how “green” his gift is - I used the bag that one of his gifts came in to wrap it. All you need is a little ribbon to “seal” the top and “jazz” it up. :) I bought the rubber duck at the Bath & Body Works sale for like $2 with the intention of just putting him on the outside of the package. I think my latest “dream” is to open a gift wrapping store. I know it would totally flop and make no money, but what a fun dream, huh?

good morning

I was so excited to use my new camera today that I actually got up early for the good sunshine. Since downtown was all blocked off for the Indy 500 parade, I went to the park… which wasn’t very inspiring for photos, but was nice for walking! I’m looooving how close I can get w/ this thing and actually have depth of field. That worry of maybe spending to much money… it’s passed… it was totally worth it!

Someone once said to me that the organic craze annoyed him because people don’t even know what makes it organic or why it’s better. I agreed… kinda. Then today I toured the Endangered Species Chocolate factory and it’s totally legit you guys. They donate, they volunteer on company time, they use fair trade, they use “green” standards… good stuff.

I walked past Home in the City on my way to lunch today and saw that they had those re-usable grocery bags that everyone is preaching about. I hadn’t seen any anywhere else (b/c Indiana is a little slow), so I bought these. I’m most excited about the big strap so I can carry them on my shoulder! …aaaaand b/c I’ll be helping the environment. :)
